Kevin Sean Michaels
Kevin Sean Michaels is a visual artist, actor, lecturer, filmmaker and producer based in New York City.
Vampira: The Movie is his first documentary, which features interviews with Maila "Vampira" Nurmi, Sid Haig, Julie Strain, Kevin Eastman, Forrest Ackerman, Fangoria TV's Debbie Rochon, Zacherley, Troma's Lloyd Kaufman, Bill Moseley, Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson, Jerry Only of The Misfits, Count Smokula, and horror historian David J. Skal. The score was written and performed by Ari Lehman, the first Jason Voorhies of Friday The 13th. Vampira: The Movie is currently available on DVD from Alpha Video.
Michaels was Art Director for Troma Entertainment for three and a half years, working closely with filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman on Troma's new film Poultrygeist! Night of the Chicken Dead.
As an actor Michaels can be seen in the upcoming independent movies In A Spiral State and The Deed to Hell.
Currently, Michaels is working with grindhouse Director Ted V. Mikels (Astro-Zombies, The Corpse Grinders, Doll Squad) and screen legend Tura Satana (Russ Meyer's Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!) on a new documentary project which will preview Spring 2008 in Los Angeles. Also in the works is a project with horror legend Ingrid Pitt (The Wicker Man, The Vampire Lovers, Where Eagles Dare, Countess Dracula) to be completed in 2009.
Michaels is married to entertainment attorney Theodora Michaels.
